Time to Settle...
So many times, the idea of settling has such a negative context. Well, if you are going to settle on a relationship, then yes, that is a bad idea! I didn't do that this time around, so all is good on that front. However, we are in our new home now and trying to settle in. There are boxes, bags and baskets everywhere. We are going to have a huge garage sale once we get finished sorting through all of this stuff! So, settling into our new home, that's a great thing! Also, I'm going to be turning 40 this year. I have always had a theory about where our life should be a various ages. Your 20's are filled with looking and discovering. Your 30's are filled with making big decisions about what kind of life you want and putting those into place. Your 40's are about being settled into those decisions and improving upon them. I guess that means I'm on track with that theory. I'm not sure when my studio will be ready to work in, other rooms are taking priority at the moment. I know it will happen though, bit by bit, box by box. I'm really loving my new life, husband, family and home. I am sure this joy will be more than evident in my next pattern. ;)

Don't Count Your Chickens Before They Are Hatched
It is a motto I try to live by. We did sign the papers last week for the house. Sadly, the owners decided to, once again, be difficult and renegotiate. I'm willing to bend and bend, but there comes a point when they want you to break and that's not okay. We decided to stand our ground or find a new house. According to our agent, they decided to stop being jerky and we should have the keys tomorrow.
While I'm excited about the move and the new home. We have a great deal of work ahead of us. Combining two households is going to be quite a chore! I suspect we'll need to have a large garage sale in the next couple of months.
On the creative side of things...I can't wait to pick out the paint for the walls of our new home. :)

Excited
We are signing the papers for our new home today. Next, we will do some painting before we start moving in. I wonder how long it will take to get the studio up and running. The quilty bug has definitely been biting me this week. What projects are you all working on? I have so many that have been packed away for the last year, I'm not sure where I want to start. I figure I'll start with the new pattern, followed by bday quilts for my kids and something for my new hubby. And at some point I'll have to get going on those huge piles of UFOs. I'm looking forward to hosting quilt gatherings again. I'm sure they will help me get lots and lots of things accomplished. :)

Rainy days...
they are perfect for quilting. Sadly, I don't have space to do that yet and I'm also at my other job. So, that does put a crimp in things. However, that doesn't mean that I'm not able to take care of a few things. I'm finally adding a logo to my patterns and the back of the cover sheets. I am changing my name on all of them as well. My husband, David, is a photographer. So, I'm toying with the idea of changing all my cover shots. However, he has never photographed quilts and the weather isn't exactly ideal. Whether or not we change the photographs for the current quilts, he probably will be shooting the upcoming ones. Pray that we get settled into our new place soon so that I have space to get going on the next pattern... :)
On a personal note...here are a few pictures of the beginning of my new life.

Welcome
Thanks for visiting my newest blog. There have been so many changes in my life in the last year! A new blog with a new name seemed more than appropriate. I have gone through a terrible divorce, many life changing situations, met and married the most amazing man I've ever known. Sadly, due to the chaos, I've had to take a break from my designing. The good news is that we are currently in the process of moving where I will have a studio once again and will be devoting myself to Divine Inspirations on a full time basis. I've had many people ask me if I have another pattern in mind. As a matter of fact, I do. My inspiration this time around are children. ;)
